Privacy Policy

Bloomly is a gentle little app for staying close to the people you love. Every loved one grows as a “bloom” in your own quiet garden, and Bloomly sends soft reminders when it might be time to reach out — nudges, never guilt. This policy explains, in plain language, what data we collect, why, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it honest and short.

Who we are

Bloomly is the data controller for the data described below, operated from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. If you have any question about your privacy, you can reach us at hello@carewithbloomly.com.

Joining the waitlist

If you sign up on our landing page to hear when Bloomly opens, we store only what we need to email you:

• Your email address, the moment you submitted it, and which form you used (so we know where you joined). We don't store your IP address.
• A one-time confirmation token, used solely to confirm your sign-up.

We use double opt-in: after you sign up we send one email asking you to confirm. You're only added to the waitlist once you click that link — if you never confirm, nothing happens and we don't email you again. The legal basis is your consent, and the only emails you'll get are about Bloomly. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing hello@carewithbloomly.com.

What we collect

• Your account email. Used to sign you in and to send you the app's transactional messages.
• Optional profile details you choose to add: a display name, your time zone, and your digest and notification preferences.
• The people you add to your garden. For each loved one you may store their name and, if you like, an optional relationship label, an optional birthday, and an optional photo you upload.
• Your care activity. Your “water” / interaction log — the moments you record — and any optional private journal notes you write about a person.

We do not collect anything beyond what the app needs to work. We do not run advertising, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics cookies.

Why we use it (legal basis)

Under the GDPR, we rely on:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the Bloomly service you signed up for (your garden, reminders, and account).
• Your consent — for optional things you choose to add, such as photos, journal notes, and notification preferences.

Please note: when you add information about other people, you are the controller of that personal data. By adding someone, you confirm you have a legitimate reason to store this information about them.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on secure servers in the European Union. To run Bloomly we rely on a few trusted service providers — for hosting, for sending email (such as sign-in links and reminders), for storing the photos you upload, and for handling payments. They only ever process your data to provide the service, never for their own purposes. Our payment provider handles your card details directly, so Bloomly never sees or stores your card numbers.

We do not sell your data, and we never share it for advertising.

Cookies

We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't use third-party analytics.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your data.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, export, and erase your personal data. You can:

• Access and correct most details directly in the app.
• Request an export of your data.
• Delete your account at any time. Deleting your account erases your garden and all data associated with it, including any photos you uploaded.

To exercise any of these rights, write to us at hello@carewithbloomly.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

Bloomly is intended for adults. It is not designed for, or directed at, children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
